MADELENIA

'ALPHA PUSSY'

Alpha Pussy imagines a woman both rewilded to run with the wolves whilst existing in a technological metaverse. Parodying the male gaze in a game of power, this office slut confronts cultural professionalism and its contribution to a reduction of the self. The instinctual beast is woken, submit and howl to the untamed.

'WITHDRAWAL'

“Withdrawal” is a video project based on the history of the 90s British rave scene and drum & bass music. I wanted to depict the three stages of addiction: experimentation, dependence, and withdrawal. Eight dancers unleash themselves into movement, with the camera mimicking the disorientation of the scene.

SOUND OF MOVEMENT

'IN THE FLESH'

‘In The Flesh’ explores the body as a shifting archive of memory and sensation. Clay, a raw and grounding element, covers the skin—transmitting the weight and fragility of emotional energy. As the final traces of it erode, the question remains—what do we hold, and what do we let go?

This work explores a dynamic dialogue where movement leads music, and music guides movement. The Sound of Movement’s innovative method allows dancers and musicians to co-create in real time, using cues and improvisation. Each performance is a unique, evolving conversation between sound and motion, shaping and inspiring one another.

Featuring a line up of Joel Rocca on saxes, Benjamin Rocca on keys, Adam Kaye on synths and electronics, Simon Lamb on drums and percussion and contemporary dancer Trinity Maguire.
